YES, but with cultural context. Barbados does not prohibit public drinking in the same way as some countries. Rum shops are central to community life, and locals often drink openly. However, disorderly conduct or drunk driving is strictly policed under the Road Traffic Act. So while sipping a rum in public is fine, safety and respect are expected.
